Team iCore iCore joins Light the Way 5k

by on Oct.18, 2013, under iCore News

Team iCore was out bright and early to support customer, Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind and their Annual Light the Way 5k.The race was held on September 28th, 2013 at the Washington Nationals Stadium. It was a great family fun event where participants had the choice to walk, run, or guide someone who was blind or visually impaired. Since 1990, Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind has been dedicated to helping the blind or visually impaired population of the greater Washington region overcome the challenges of vision loss. Several volunteers from iCore’s Account Management department came out to support and some assisted the blind in the 5k. Donations can still be made to Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind to help them reach their $200,000 goal. We are honored to participate and sponsor such an amazing cause!

iCore literally has all hands on deck volunteering for Hands on DC!

It was a beautiful sunny Saturday on the 19th of May, and iCore couldn’t ask for better weather to help improve the conditions of D.C. schools. This is iCore’s fifth year participating in this annual volunteer Work-A-Thon and third as an official Sponsor; doing everything from painting to remove graffiti, cleaning, landscaping the schools, or expanding playgrounds from one of D.C.’s 25 public schools. This year iCore spruced up Capitol Hill Montessori School in Northeast, and employees painted several areas like the school court’s basketball key, whiteboards, and staff parking spaces. In addition, they installed fencing and built planter boxes and benches so that by the end of the day, Montessori was picture perfect!
