iCore Sponsors the Providence Center’s 23rd Annual Moran Golf Classic

by on Jun.04, 2015, under iCore News, Philanthropy

The iCore team had a blast supporting the Providence Center as a sponsor and participant in the 23rd Annual Moran Golf Classic. Providence Center’s mission is to provide comprehensive services that allow individuals with disabilities to achieve a valuable and functioning role in society. Not only were we able to raise money to support disabled individuals, but we were able to raise awareness for a great cause.

The philanthropic event, which was hosted at the Queenstown Harbor Golf Courses in Queenstown, MD on June 1 at 10 a.m., featured a silent auction and a golf tournament. All proceeds went directly to the Providence Center’s efforts to improve the lives of disabled individuals in the Anne Arundel community.

iCore Sponsors Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland

by on May.19, 2015, under Philanthropy

The iCore team was excited to support and participate in the Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland’s 23rd Annual Culinary Extravaganza! The event took place on Monday, May 18, 2015, at the Grand Lodge Hunt Valley. Last year’s Culinary Extravaganza raised over $155,000 and brought more than 20,100 meals to homebound seniors. This year, Chef Jerry Edwards, President and Corporate Chef of Chef’s Expressions Catering and Consulting, once again lead the event in hope to break last year’s record. The event this year adopted the theme “Cirque de la Cuisine,” and expanded to include Live and Silent Auctions, wine/food pairings, live music and countless entertainments.

At iCore, we recognize the importance of helping those in need. Our donation contributed to help Meals on Wheels deliver over 800,000 nutritious meals to the hands of immobile people in addition to the organization’s pledge to provide vital support to aging seniors and maintain their independence.

All proceeds from this event went towards forwarding Meals on Wheels’ mission of enabling independence for seniors. See pictures from the event below:

iCore Supports Victims of Domestic Violence at Garden of Light Gala

by on May.05, 2015, under Philanthropy

Longtime advocate for victims of domestic violence, Bethany House of Northern Virginia (BHNV), hosted its fourth annual Garden of Light Gala this past Saturday at the Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield, VA.  iCore participated in the event as a Hope Garden Sponsor in support of BHNV’s 35 year mission to help women and children who have suffered from domestic violence regain health and dignity and become reestablished in their community.  Guests enjoyed delicious cuisine, live music, and a silent auction of items donated by local area businesses. All proceeds from the event will be used to benefit those served by Bethany House’s Family Assistance Program, which provides shelter to families escaping abusive homes.

According to BHNV, each year, the number of women and children seeking refuge in emergency shelters for domestic violence victims is growing. To address the growing need for shelter, BHNV has initiated its Raise the Roof! Capital Campaign to renovate its oldest emergency shelter which will nearly double their capacity to house victims of domestic violence and will ensure a safe and comfortable home for women to rebuild their lives. The project will allow BHNV to better serve victims of domestic violence in Fairfax County – a community where 33% of homeless families are homeless due to domestic violence – and surrounding Northern Virginia and DC metro communities.
