Earlier this month, iCore’s Chairman & CEO, Stephen G. Canton, announced our partnership with The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law solidifying our commitment to uplifting communities in the Washington, DC area and across the nation. iCore and The Lawyers Committee have had a long standing, positive relationship which became official on July 2 of this year with the formation of the FirstGEN fellowship program co-sponsored by iCore.
Mr. Canton proudly presented Joe Moore, Deputy Director and Chief Administrative Officer of The Lawyers’ Committee, with a donation to kick-start the fellowship program, which is exclusively available to undergraduate students pursuing an education in social justice who are the first in their immediate families to attend an institution of higher education.
Our VP of Operations, Chuck Canton, expressed his excitement about the new partnership, “At iCore Networks we have been dedicated to giving back to our community and the industry since day one, and becoming a key sponsor of the FirstGEN Fellows program allows us to continue this important value. We are thrilled to support first-generation college students.”
The best part about the fellowship is that it will empower young students across the nation through real world experience as policy interns in the heart of Washington, D.C with frequent work on Capitol Hill! iCore is excited to be working with The Lawyer’s Committee in promoting equality and education among students and looks forward to taking part in their efforts of upholding civil rights.
