iCore Sponsors Catholic Charities Gala

Members of the iCore team attended the 2015 Catholic Charities Gala organized by the Archdiocese of Washington. iCore was a key sponsor of the event specifically for the event’s pledge to feed. iCore’s generous donation will help inspire hope and build futures for more than 120,000 people in need through Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. The Archdiocese of Washington will distribute more than 118,000 food packages to thousands of families across the region and give more than 809,000 pounds of food to local pantries thanks to the donations the gala.
 
In addition to its pledge to feed the District’s hungry, the Archdiocese of Washington will help thousands of locals in need by:
 
– Providing more than 1,600 beds each night for homeless men, women and children.
– Helping provide medical, dental and mental health care to nearly 13,000 people annually.
– Serving nearly 6,500 people with civil or immigration legal advice or representation.
– Providing job training, employment referrals and on-the-job coaching to more than 4,200 people.

iCore Supports Girl Scouts of Central Maryland Distinguished Women Awards

iCore joined the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland last night in celebration of Baltimore’s top women in business at the 35th annual Distinguished Women Awards. As a continuation of our long standing partnership with the Girl Scouts of America organization, we proudly supported the event as a Brownie Sponsor. The Girl Scouts brought together Baltimore’s business elite to recognize five Baltimore area women business leaders for their outstanding professional and civic accomplishments. Honorees included: Karen Evans, Vice President at Whiting Turner, Georgette Kiser, Managing Director and Chief Information Officer at the Carlyle Group, Janese Murray, Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion at Exelon Corporation, Elianne Ramos, CEO at Speak HispanicLLC, and Mary Ann Scully, CEO at Howard Bank.
 
This philanthropic event took place, Thursday, April 23, 2015, at the Baltimore Country Club in Roland Park located at 4712 Club Road. All proceeds from the event will empower current and future Girl Scouts of Central Maryland to grown into women of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.

iCore Nominated Tech Firm of the Year Finalist!

iCore has been named a tech firm of the year finalist in the the Tech Council of Maryland’s (TCM) 2015 Industry Awards Celebration (IAC). The annual awards banquet recognizes leaders and innovators in the technology and life science communities from Maryland and the surrounding regions. The evening brings more than 900 technology, life science, government, education, and other local businesses together for Maryland’s best night of networking.
 
iCore is in the running for tech firm of the year alongside WeddingWire, Exostar, Gantech Inc. and Dovel Technologies. Awards will also be distributed for categories such as: Chief Executive Officer of the Year, Chief Financial Officer of the Year, Chief Information Officer/Chief Technology Officer of the Year, Life Science Firm of the Year, Government Contracting Firm of the Year and Emerging Firm of the Year. Finalists for these categories include some of the most influential business men and women throughout Maryland and the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
 
The winners will be named at the Industry Awards Celebration on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. To learn more about the awards visit the Technology Council of Maryland’s website.

iCore Lends Helping Hand to Local Charities

At iCore Networks, we understand the importance of remaining socially conscious. An active philanthropist himself, iCore Chairman and CEO, Stephen G. Canton, has cultivated a culture of giving throughout the company. Mr. Canton serves on the board of numerous charities and fundraising event committees throughout the Washington, DC metro area. Most recently Mr. Canton chaired the United Negro College Fund’s 2015 Masked Ball, which you can read more about here.
 
In the coming months iCore will continue to lend a helping hand to local charities starting with Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind. iCore is an active sponsor in the charity’s 2nd Annual Shot in the Dark Golf & Dinner Classic held 6 p.m. – 10 p.m., May 1, 2015 at the Lakewood Country Club in Rockville, Maryland. The highlight of this event is the Night Golf during which attendees will play a 9-hole scramble illuminated only by glow-in-the-dark golf balls and glowing course markers. At dinner, guests will enjoy casino entertainment, live auction and special guest appearances. All proceeds from this event will go toward forwarding Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind’s mission of educating the community that the blind or visually impaired can overcome obstacles and achieve new heights. We will also be sponsoring the Providence Center’s 23rd Annual Moran Golf Classic. The tournament kicks off at 10 a.m., June 1, 2015 at the Queenstown Harbor Golf Courses. All proceeds from the event will go towards helping individuals with disabilities lead more independent, valuable, and functioning roles in society.
